Trung Nguyen – Premium Blend Ground Coffee
The Premium Blend coffee in the can is like Gourmet Blend, a popular home-brew Vietnamese traditional coffee, made using Arabica, Robusta, Excelsa and Catimore beans. This mixture has an additional ingredient, other than a small amount of butter oil traditionally used in the roasting process, cocoa adds a delicate, intense flavor and distinctive aroma.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Vietnamese coffee but NOT WHOLE-BEAN
One problem — this is advertised “whole bean” when it’s nothing of the kind, which is a disappointment to me because I much prefer to grind my coffee as I need it.Still, alone among Southeast Asian countries, Vietnam has splendid, dark, eye-popping coffee that you don’t really want to drink after about 4 PM unless you enjoy watching the sun rise. As I said , would love to find this in REAL whole-bean form.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good coffee with hints of chocolate.
Overall a nice pre-ground coffee. Good full body, and definite hints of chocolate throughout. I find that through a automatic drip maker, the oils in this coffee can be a little harsh and it can develop a bit of a tang as it cools down. So it’s not perfect, but it’s a solid choice. I am betting brewed in the vietnamese style it would be better, and used in vietnamese iced coffee (with sweetened condensed milk) it would be excellent with the natural chocolate flavor it has. I would say overall it is not as good as fresh ground beans or even some quality pre-ground stuff like Gevalia (my favorite pre-ground), but compared to things like Folgers or Maxwell House (in a similar price range per canister), it is much better.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very artificial tasting
I am really picky with coffee. Unfortunate for me this was a no. There is artificial flavor added that tastes like chocolate and buttered popcorn and it is very obvious. I wish I knew this before purchasing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious, rich coffee when made vietnamese style!
If you’ve never had vietnamese coffee – hot or iced – you are missing a real treat. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to buy this real vietnamese ground coffee and sweetened condensed milk (yes, they’re distinctly different from their American counterparts). What makes the coffee such a treat is the special filter, called a phin. I bought mine from The Fitzy Shop. It’s high quality stainless steel that’s sturdy and very well made. The filter holes are small so the grounds don’t end up in your drink. (As a complement to this filter of excellent quality is their personalized customer service). This coffee is delicious! Apparently it’s made of Robusto beans while we in the states are used to Arabica. (Robusto is stronger in flavor and higher in caffeine content). The label lists butter flavor and chocolate flavor as well. Made with my Fitzy phin and Longevity sweetened condensed milk, it’s heaven hot or iced. I highly recommend and will buy again! (I received no compensation or discount for this review!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Will take FOREVER in a French Press
Using 2T as per the instructions it takes a good 45 minutes to drip through. We’re here at the 45 minute mark. The taste is fantastic but don’t expect a warm coffee. The grind is a touch too fine for the French Press. The Cafe Du Monde may have a less chocolatey taste but it drips through far far far more quickly and has a rich, robust flavor that’s more espresso and less mocha. It loses major points on how long it takes to drip through what it was supposedly made for

1.0 out of 5 stars Premium??? I think not.
“INGREDIENTS : Coffee Aribica, Coffee Robusta, ARTIFICIAL COFFEE AND CHOCOLATE FLAVORS” (the last five words my emphasis) says it all. Why does good coffee need artificial anything, let alone chocolate??? The smell of the opened can was wonderful, the actual flavor of the coffee terrible. I’m throwing out both cans, as I can’t return them & there’s no apparent refund for quality. If you want good Vietnamese coffee, try “Nguyen Coffee Supply – Loyalty Signature Robusta & Arabica Blend: Medium Roast Ground Coffee Beans, Vietnamese Grown and Direct Trade, Organic, Single Origin, Premium Ground, Low Acid with High Caffeine Content, Roasted in Brooklyn [12 oz Bag]” ASIN B083HWSXQ8 — it’s superior to my local coffees, except that the first of three bags I bought was ground (excellent!), the other two weren’t (and my neighbor with the coffee grinder got to enjoy them).

5.0 out of 5 stars Good and can make your hear colors
This stuff is good, but careful because it can make your hear colors. My wife and I watched a show where they made vietnamese iced coffee using a small coffee press. My wife said she wanted to try it. Five minutes and $20 later on amazon in had some headed our way with a press. This morning I read the instructions and made about 5 ounces of something that was pretty much espresso. I poured it into a cup with sweetened condensed milk.I paused before tasted it, expecting something strong and bitter. I was surprised, it was like a milk shake. I drank the cup while eating breakfast.By the time I left the house my ears had a ring and I was wound up like a ten day clock. I knocked the ice out of the dogs water bowl and gave them water. I let the horses out of the barn. Now I am at work and am pretty sure I can hear colors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes great Vietnamese style coffee!
I bought this coffee based on the reviews, and I agree that it makes great Vietnamese style coffee. I have a very cheap metal Vietnamese brewer (“thephin”) and these grounds work great in it. I let it drip over a glass of ice cubes and 2 Tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk, give it a good stir, and it tastes just like the ones I get at the Pho restaurant. It’s fun to have them at home whenever I want.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes the best Vietnamese Ice Coffee!
Has a mocha flavor due to the cocoa added to the coffee blend. Makes the best cold coffee when mixed with sweetened condensed milk, Vietnamese Ice Coffee (cà phê đá -or- cafe da)! Use with Cold Brew Coffee Maker with Flip Cap Lid by County Line Kitchen,https://www.amazon.com/Coffee-Maker-County-Line-Kitchen/dp/B07772LL6V …. to make around 1.5 quarts at a time. Make a coffee concentrate using 1/3 cup coffee grounds for every 1.5 cups cold water (let sit at room temp overnight) – add sweetened condensed milk to taste – pour over ice and stir to chill and dilute. For those worried about the cancer warning, look for a recent June 2019 article, “California says those ominous warning signs about coffee being linked to cancer can be taken down” on the usatoday . com website. Roasting coffee beans produces acrylamide and this is what this cancer warning is about. Acrylamide is also produced in other foods subjected to high heat.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very bold and different taste, definitely worth a try
I’m a huge coffee lover, maybe verging on coffee snob. I have a few local roasts that I buy and really love but sometimes you just yearn for something new and exotic. This need caused me to do some research and land on this Trung Nguyen Vietnamese coffee.Don’t expect regular coffee flavors from this, it’s VERY different. There are hints of caramel, but then a very woody spicy flavor that walks into your mouth and takes charge. It’s less coffee flavor and more coffee like drink. It’s also dark, very dark. I swear I could feel new hairs sprouting from my chest as I drank every sip.As far as I could tell the coffee wasn’t very fresh, but it was almost good because of that. I’m sure fresh it would be amazing, but the raw strength of this coffee was just amazing. It never failed to wake me up and made good French press, gravity or espresso. I mostly used it with a Vietnamese pressed metal coffee filter, but any sort of filter would work if you’re just going to do a pour over gravity drop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Consistently good
I have been buying this product since the attitudes of local Starbucks employees have taken a nosedive.I used to treat myself to a sugary Frappuccino on Friday mornings but since COVID, the Starbuck employees I have encountered seem not to enjoy what they are doing or seem like they are too good to work. It feels like my fellow customers and I have become a nuisance.About the time I was starting to get turned off of Starbucks, my wife and I went to a Vietnamese restaurant where I ordered a coffee. I was reminded how good they are. When I got home, I did some investigating on Amazon. For less than the cost of 4 visits to Starbucks, I could make my own Vietnamese coffee at home. I can make the coffee while I am making/eating breakfast and can take it with me on the road. It’s much cheaper than a Frappuccino and I don’t have to put on a fake happy face for people who act like they don’t care if we (the people who are writing their paychecks) even exist. We recently discovered another reason to buy this coffee.A couple of months ago, we didn’t have enough regular coffee to make a pot. So, I added some of the Vietnamese coffee. It actually made the drip coffee smoother and more flavorful. Now we are using half Vietnamese and half Columbian, French, et al (bringing the world together) to our drip. It tastes much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious rich flavor
I drink a lot of coffee, (a lot), not really loyal to any specific brand because I like buying and trying new to me ones, all the time.Bought this a while back and never got around to trying it. Just opened it, (omg the aroma is heavenly) made myself a cup and it is absolutely delicious. So much so I made a second cup immediately. TBH.. kinda mad at myself for waiting so long to try it. The flavor matches the aroma, it’s rich in flavor and smooth. A teeny bit pricey compared to similar, but I will absolutely enjoy every drop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Delicious
My husband bought some of this coffee for me for my birthday last year and I have been addicted ever since. I was super sad when the price spiked almost double, and then was out of stock – so I was elated to see it back in stock close to its original price. This coffee is rich and delicious, not bitter, with a hint of rich chocolate. I’ve made it using the traditional Vietnamese drip process as well as using a French Press – both ways come out absolutely deliciously. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Vietnamese coffee you’ll ever have!
Best coffee I ever had! The quality is excellent, the aroma smells amazing and it’s so strong! This is my third purchase already and it’s my go to coffee! I make mines expresso since I love it strong. I add condense milk to give the hint of sweetness and its delicious! If you want to make expresso, I highly recommend purchasing the brand on here called Thang Long Vietnamese coffee filter size small (6oz) and if you want for coffee a medium or large (same brand Thang Long, they have different sizes) and it’s very cheap price and high quality material. It comes with a lid to keep the heat in for your coffee! Overall, I love this brand and I’m going to continue to purchase this product.P.S: I don’t recommend for people who have severe anxiety problems and heart conditions/issues. It’s very strong and if you do decide to purchase, consult to your doctor first. I hope this helps!Vietamese Coffee Recipe: • Water • Vietamese coffee (This brand) • 1 or 2 tsp of Condense milk •Almond milk or any choice of your liking.Preparation:First Boil water, if it starts boiling it’s done. Before anything, add condense milk in your cup first. Now add Vietamese coffee to the Vietamese coffee Filter (you can start with 1 tsp and gradually add more if you want to be stronger) I recommend to tap the coffee filter gently on the side to take out excess coffee ground that way you won’t drink it in your coffee drink. After, place the filter on top of your cup and now add the hot water in the coffee filter, cover with lid and let the magic happens! When it stops dripping mix condense milk and coffee together. Once it’s mixed completely, add ice, add almond milk or your choice of milk into the mix, and mix it all up! Ta-da! You got your Vietamese coffee! Enjoy!

I use this to make Vietnamese iced coffee before I go to work. I brew it in my drip coffee maker and then add about 1-2 tbsp of sweetened condensed milk per 6 oz of coffee. then I just add ice to it and it makes a great, super caffeinated coffee drink that’s much cheaper than what I’d pay at Starbucks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Smells Delicious
I love this coffee. I have been through four cans of it, total. I love taking off the lid and smelling the coffee/chocolate before I start brewing. I have two different sizes of phin (the item you use to brew Vietnamese coffee grounds). I only wish I had an even BIGGER one for more of this. I’m glad I can buy this because normally it’s difficult to find the right grind size already ground and ready to brew.I saw some reviews where they say the water doesn’t make it through the filter. That does happen sometimes and it results in a more bitter brew. I’m not sure why. Most of the time, it doesn’t for me.This is also great to brew directly onto ice for Japanese-style iced coffee.

Maxwell House Intense Bold Coffee is less than 1/2 the price and is a much better quality for making Vietnamese coffee. I bought this one because I thought it would be better, but it wasn’t. I’m not saying its bad, but it’s just not as good as something else that is a lot cheaper.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very strong coffee
If you need a caffeine boost this coffee is for you. I call it “ my crack coffee” and when I need extra energy this is my go to. If I were a dog I would have the zoomies. The taste is a tad bitter but so is espresso. I mix it with condensed sweetened milk and all becomes right in the world. While it is a bit more expensive then regular coffee, you don’t need a lot of this. I’ve even mixed it with regular coffee for a little added kick when I don’t need the full effect. In my opinion this is much stronger than espresso. Normally it takes 3 shots of espresso from Starbies for me to feel the effects. With this coffee I use two tablespoons and I’m smelling colors, washing windows and vacuuming simultaneously.

5.0 out of 5 stars First Vietnamese coffee. It’s good
This is the first vietnamese coffee I’ve tried. I think it’s strong with a little bitterness which I’m fine with. It’s a lot stronger than regular coffee but not as strong as espresso. If you dislike strong coffee you probably won’t like this. You can brew this any way you would brew any other coffee but it seems fitting to brew this in a phin filter over sweetened condensed milk in the traditional way. That results in strong sweet coffee that is really good hot or over ice.You can ignore the stupid cancer warning, that warning is required in order to be able to sell anything in California.Im not going to stop drinking espresso but this is a nice alternative. The best part is that proper espresso requires either an expensive coffee machine or a trip to the coffee shop. You can make this in the traditional way in a vietnamese coffee maker called a phin for around 10$ishI just ordered my 3rd can of this and plan on adding this to my coffee habit on a regular basis

2.0 out of 5 stars Artificially flavored and brews awful.
This “coffee” product (that’s what I’m calling it) is just all around bad.First off, the manufacturer doesn’t make it readily known that they use artificial flavoring. Rather, they hope you’re not someone who looks for labeling that states such things. It is in fact reliant, heavily at that, on artificial flavoring and adjuncts such as artificial chocolate flavoring and artificial coffee flavoring. Yes, artificial coffee flavoring in ground coffee. The aroma when first open smells more like a hot chocolate mix than it does coffee.Second, the grind size and size of the adjuncts. This is absolutely dreadful to brew. The coffee is ground to somewhere around medium, while the chocolate adjuncts are more like a fine powder (you’ll see it clump together in the can). This causes my phin (vietnamese coffee brewer) to stall, which leads to the nastiest over extractions. I know what you’re thinking; the can says you can use other brewers, like a moka pot and pour over. Well guess what? This product is ten times worse to brew in a moka pot, however the taste is improved due to it not being over extracted. Pour over? Forget it. Unless you have an hour for a single cup of coffee to be brewed.Third, taste is absolutely horrendous. Yeah I know, I just said “the taste is improved” via the moka pot, but that doesn’t make it good. I’m no stranger to robusta coffee. I actually like pure robusta a lot. Robusta is also a large part of espresso blends to impart a balance to the Arabica and aid in crema presence. Robusta is not the problem here. The problem goes back to the use of adjuncts, artificial flavoring agents and grind size/clogging/stalling issues. Amazon won’t let me describe it with two words, but I’ll try here: first word is “the”. Second word starts with an s, then a u, then c, then a k and finally, another s.Save your money for the purchase of a better vietnamese coffee. Or better yet, buy a single origin vietnamese bean or vietnamese blend, grind the beans yourself and enjoy what should be a super strong, great and intense tasting cup of coffee.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great!
I really like this coffee. It is best when using the Vietnamese style coffee maker, but it is still good in a drip machine. For those saying it has “poison” based on the cancer warning: this is a prop 65 warning that ALL coffee sold within the state of CA is required to have as a result of the acrylamide residue created in the roasting process. Legally, any coffee sold in California must have this warning or they can be liable for suit against them. Coffee that does not have the warning and is still sold to CA consumers is in violation of Prop 65. I know this because I work in regulatory and have to do yearly Prop 65 audits. Next time you’re in CA, go to any coffee shop and they will have this same warning posted somewhere in the shop (supposed to be at POS but that rarely happens). The artificial flavor is a separate concern. If you don’t like the idea of artificial flavors, then don’t buy this, but the label cancer warning is something else entirely.Research Prop65 and you’ll see CA requires warnings on products containing a myriad of chemicals, including certain types of aloe vera and orange oil. Take it with a grain of salt.On the coffee front, it tastes great and when brewed with the Vietnamese coffee method, is strong and flavorful. I’ll buy it again.
